MEETÂ SHAKIRAÂ
There are women who create beauty not just with their hands, but with their presence, their perspective, and the path that shaped them. Shakira, founder and visionary behind Jules Aesthetics & Wellness, is one of them.
Her journey began in the rigor of medicine, graduating from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio with a dual Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies and a Bachelor’s in Health Care Science. She stepped into the intensity of inpatient care, building a strong clinical foundation across Cardiology, Neurology, and Hospital Medicine, where decisions were fast, complex, and deeply consequential. It was within the surgical world, however, that her direction became clear.
At Brooke Army Medical Center, one of the nation’s leading Level 1 Trauma Centers, she trained in Trauma and Plastic Surgery, moving seamlessly between the ICU, trauma bay, operating room, and clinic as a First Assist in complex reconstructive cases. It was in those operating rooms, working at the intersection of structure and artistry, that her philosophy began to take shape. She saw firsthand that true transformation is not only technical, but deeply human.
By 2015, she had launched her own Surgical First Assist company, collaborating with top plastic surgeons throughout the community. While the work was intricate and demanding, she found herself drawn to something more lasting. She wanted connection. She wanted continuity. She wanted to be part of a patient’s journey beyond a single procedure.
In 2018, she transitioned into Aesthetic Medicine with a clear vision of building something of her own. Jules was created as a space where science, artistry, and patient experience come together at the highest level. Since then, she has trained internationally alongside some of the most respected injectors in the world, continually refining her technique and expanding her perspective. Today, she serves as a national trainer for Galderma, Revance, and Evolus, educating providers on advanced techniques, safety, and elevated outcomes.
Teaching has become a natural extension of her work. She is passionate about helping injectors and business owners not only refine their craft, but also build practices that are thoughtful, strategic, and sustainable. Through her courses and mentorship, she shares the insights that are often missing from traditional training, helping others bridge the gap between clinical excellence and business success.
Shakira is a clinician, an artist, and an educator, but above all, she is a leader who is committed to raising the standard of aesthetic medicine. Her work is rooted in intention, guided by experience, and shaped by a belief that the best results come from a balance of skill, integrity, and connection.
For her, this has never been just about aesthetics. It is about impact.
